Lucie Cunningham has lived in The Netherlands since 2003, is married to a Dutch man and they have a young son who was born here. Lucie is the founder of the Delft Mama foundation which helps women's transition to motherhood in a foreign country where they may lack a network of family members and friends: a healthy, confident and informed mother can better take care of their families and their community reventing emergency medical and financial situations of foreign families who may be confused at different healthcare and social services systems. Encouraging learning of the Dutch language and meeting Dutch people to become active participants of life in Delft at the personal and professional levels. Bringing people together that would normally never get to meet but share similar situations to exchange experiences and philosophies. Lucie is founder and chair person of Delft Mama, and also stuurvrouwen project board member training and member of Delft international women’s day planning committee at VrouwKindcentrum. She was also a volunteer for Latin and Central American immigrant center in Atlanta, USA |
