We're pleased to announce that we'll soon be introducing an advisory panel here on Parenting in Holland. Just what is that? Well we get quite a number of general queries through this website and will soon be able to provide detailed replies. Our advisory panel members are Nina Young (founder of Parenting in Holland), Ilona van der Vloed (midwife) and a panel of parents in The Netherlands with real experience of raising a familiy here. We're actively looking for additional members for the panel, who could contribute towards helping our readers. We get a huge variety of questions from tips on raising bilingual children to questions about how to find a midwife. If you're an expat parent who has lived in Holland for more than 5 years (and especially if you've been pregnant and given birth here) and you're interested in becoming a member of our advisory panel please contact us . |

A toddlers' playgroup, peuterspeelzaal, is a place where young children from 2.5 to 4 years of age can play in a group a number of mornings or afternoons per week. This happens under the supervision of a qualified crèche assistant (leidster) who works together with unqualified support staff such as parents who help out, students who are doing work experience etc. Toddlers will be offered different activities both at an individual as well as group level. Ask for an appointment to go and have a look around the ones you are interested in and ask them what kind of activities they organise. |
